Re: 2014 Mazda 3
If the CDR Tool software can read the VIN from the vehicle, it's reading it from the engine computer NOT the airbag control module. "Not going further" is a little vague. What specific error dialog box are you seeing after you have done what next step?

Re: 2021 Ford Edge deployment with no event stored
The names of events are selected by the OEM and are not regulated by 49CFR563. Ford has a variety of event names they use and it appears that they have started listing what we might call the "event starting trigger name" rather than something that seems to be akin to what was commanded or ...

Re: 2014 Mazda 3
A lot to unwrap here... (snip) Both had the correct VIN for the vehicule, which is not supported by CDR. They used the VIN above, and another one who gave the same results, in both expertises. Some sources mentionned that it could be an OEM protocol, i don't know where to confirm this info. Whoever ...

Re: 2014 Mazda 3
First, the VIN used doesn't come back as a real North American VIN. The NHTSA VIN database reports it as a possible 2005 Mazda but also reports: "5 - VIN has errors in few positions; 6 - Incomplete VIN; 14 - Unable to provide information for some of the characters in the VIN, based on the manuf...

I didn't see patronizing, I saw information and explanation. What did I miss? Point out one part of what I wrote that wasn't true, how you perceive it is up to you. If you don't like that I pointed out that you're not following the best practice laid out in writing in the software you're using, or t...

It's not reading because that module is not supported in Oz. In the Help file, notice the Market Code is "1" which means "US and Canada." No matter how many times someone has told you spoofing is "ok," without some specific additional information, it is not . No matter ...

Hi William:
You needed to be verified. That's been done. You should have access.

Re: 2006 LIncoln Mark LT Download Issue
What that error message says is that you're communicating with the interface but not through the car's wiring to the PCM. Your configuration looks to be ok, I would suspect the PCM isn't (a) powered on or (b) is not communicating on the car's communication bus.

Gerald: Perhaps you should define "issue" and explain the problem you have encountered. Are you talking about the legacy version 23.2, 23.21, or just the new interface version CDR2? I have found no significant installation or operation "issue" with version 23.2x of the CDR Tool s...

Re: Any breakthroughs on recovering Subaru Eyesight camera images?
Subaru ACMs DO have a dedicated recording space for ped-related data (1) assuming the car is so equipped AND (2) the event triggers the pedestrian protection recording threshold. The Bosch tool would retrieve data from that Subaru ACM and it would be displayed in the data translation report. You wil...

Re: CDR2 Won't Open?
So at the moment, CDR2 really only works with the Mercedes ADAS systems. Going forward, it'll pick up other systems but that's the main connection now. If You don't need it, stick with the legacy GUI in 23.2 - for now. That said, does your PC meet the minimum requirements for CDR2? It could also be,...

Re: CDR2 Software
What that means is the activation certificate for version 23.2 has been altered. It appears to be a text file but it is protected. If someone tried to, for example, extend the activation date or made so much as a single bit change in the activation CTF file, it's no longer a valid CTF file and you'l...

Re: Tesla EDR Report download issue
(snip) Telsa has related that the EDR file is not backward compatible with their translation software if older software images are used on newer vehicles. I imaged a 2022 model 3 with version 20.20.1 of the software and ran into the same issue. Image file was complete and about 3 kb. When uploaded ...

Re: Tesla EDR Report download issue
Wei: The Tesla report generation server error has been around off-and-on for a while and replicating the problem to find a solution has been like chasing a phantom from the perspective of whether it was at the software, car, or the online report generation process since it wasn't happening "all...

Hi, Don, the digest IS working, but your settings don't call for one to be sent because, at one time, emails to you from the Forum were blocked and then the digests stopped sending. Here's the activity log for your email showing yours stopped sending in April: Don Log.PNG But others are being sent b...

Re: Tesla EDR Report download issue
Hi all:
This issue popped up before and I looked into it. Thought there was a resolution but now I can't be sure. Wei, please send me the EDR file directly (PM?) and I will see if I can get it looked into more closely.

Re: Vehicle Event Data (Pre-Crash) Associated With This Event = No
This is like the Malibu example in the Analyst course. In the data limitations, it says there's only one set of pre-crash and it explains why the pre-crash isn't associated with the displayed event. (You should repost this in the verified forum as a CDRx file so it can be viewed in newer software th...

Re: LEXUS 17EDR Ignition Cycle vs Trip Count
We will check our readings to see if this situation has occurred in our readouts. There are three possibilities: 1. a fault in the Bosch CDR software 2. a bug in the software of the airbag controller 3. eeprom modification (unlikely) If you want to send me the whole Hex (copy -> paste from the fina...

Re: Which "Record" is the latest event
Ryan: Check your Analyst class notes for the Vegas taxi case problem or the Corvette case problem, both are on point and would give you examples of what you're looking for. This is also a good opportunity to post the CDRx file (not a PDF) even in sanitized form so one might point you in the right di...
