Information on Posting

Post by seanhaight »

There are multiple levels of CrashForum.info. If you look at our board index, you will see different categories related to accident reconstruction. For example you will see a topic on Crash Data Retrieval, Accident Reconstruction, and Accident Reconstruction Conferences. These categories can not be edited by anyone other than the administrators of the forum. Listed below the categories are the forums. Forums are the home to the difference user-created topics that relate to the title of the forum. The names of the forums can only be changed by the administrators as well.

After you click on the forum that you would like to explore, you will see a list of topics. You can either read through the different discussions within each topic or create your own by selecting "New Topic" in the top left corner of the page (below the title). When creating a topic, create a title that relates to the content in the post and create the message that you would like people to see. Above the main text entry area is text formatting options like bold and italics. Simply highlight the text you would like to make bold and press the "B" button. You can also add attachments to your post by selecting the "Upload Attachment" below the main text entry area. Once you are satisfied with you topic, you can either preview it or submit it (note: you will be able to edit the post after you submit).

To make posts on existing topics, the same procedure applies. The difference is you press the button that says: "Post Reply" on the top left. You can also start a new post by clicking "Quote" on a post that you would like to reply to specifically. Attachments and text formatting are done the same way as before.

You will also have the ability to delete or edit your own post. You can do this by clicking on the "Edit" or "X" button on the right side of your post.
