2017 Chevy Corvette Dynamic Event Counter

Post by shidehengineering »

Does anyone know what the "Dynamic Event Counter" is for on a 2017 Chevy Corvette? A colleague of ours collected crash data from a 2017 Chevy Corvette the other day and the "Dynamic Event Counter" was 173. According to the data limitations "Dynamic Event Counter tracks the number of qualified events (either Deployments, Non-deploy, or Rollover events) that have occurred during the SDM's lifetime. It seems a count of 173 is very high. There were a total of 3 "Non-Deployment" events recovered from the ACM.

In the same way, those vehicles that are used for off-roading can have much higher than normal number of non-deployment events, (high TRG# in a 4x4 Tacoma for example) I would expect that a Corvette could accumulate a higher than expected number of events, if hard cornering, for example, could set a non-deployment rollover recording.
