2013 ARC-CSI Crash Conference
May 13-16, 2013 - Las Vegas, NV
As the annual ARC-CSI Crash Conference nears (only one week left to register early and save $200!), We are shoring up the schedule and topics. We just posted a new topic that will be presented by Derek Hardy and Lenny Simpson.
***Advances in Forensic Photography for Crash Investigations***
Technology has always played a very important role within the discipline of Crash Investigations. Digital Photography, while certainly not new technology, is an area that has experienced tremendous advances within the field of forensic investigations. Advanced photographic techniques such as High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR) and Reflective Transmission Imaging (RTI) represent new procedures designed to improve the workflow, efficiency, and value of photographs within a Forensic Crash Investigation. These techniques improve the quality of all photographs taken within an investigation to include over-all scene photographs, tire-wear impressions, obliterated VINs, paint transfer, damaged light filaments, and clothing impressions. Crash Investigators will be able to produce correctly exposed, clearer, and sharper images even in the most demanding lighting conditions. These advanced techniques can expose details within an image that were previously undetected, all the while maintaining a level of evidentiary integrity that will meet the standards set forth by both Daubert and Frye.
We are still waiting on final approval for a couple more presentations and will post them when they are finalized.
