2021 Ford F150 Report Question

Post by boneil911 »

In the pre-crash data there is a section labeled "Large Driver Steering or Accel Pedal Input." Does anybody know what this means? I google search has not been helpful and it switches from No to Yes 1 second before Algorithm Enable so I'm curious what is going on.

Thank you,

Usually at Ford, a Yes-value at “large driver steering or accelerator pedal input” indicates that the driver is intending to override the collision mitigation by braking (CMbB) feature.

CMbB is designed to help drivers avoid collisions or reduce the severity of a crash. Based on speed and relative distance of objects ahead, CMbB assesses the potential for a collision and provides visual and audible alerts. Drivers can adjust the distance and warning settings, but if the CMbB system identifies an imminent threat that is not responded to, it will automatically precharge or even apply brake force to aid the driver.
