Spring 2025 SATAI Crash Conference

Post by Bob Anderson »

The SATAI Board would like to remind you of the dates and announce the speakers for the Spring 2025 Conference in Glendale, AZ at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC).

Our crash test program will take place starting at 1PM on Thursday, March 27, 2025 with crashes being conducted by Chris Furbish and his team of crash testing experts. Our current crash plan will include collisions involving trailers, studying the forces applied to the towing vehicle.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, Mark Leonard of Mecanica Scientific Services will be presenting on trailers and trailer dynamics and Andy Klane of Aperture will be presenting on aerial drones and photogrammetry.

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, Weston Brown and Bjorn Houman from Weston Forensics will present “Calculating Lateral Displacement from Pre-crash Yaw Rate and Lateral Acceleration” and “Advanced Time-Distance Analysis”. In the afternoon Seton Claggett and Brandon Holt of Focus Forensics LLC will present “Forensic Visualization: Evidence Based Storytelling”.

As usual, the crash teams will provide a brief review of the results of the crash test program at the end of the day on Saturday.

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for speakers or topics, please reach out to myself (jbalasa@mecanicacorp.com) or any of the other board members listed on the SATAI website.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in March!
